Intel Senior Engineering Technician in Santa Clara, California
Join Intel's fast-paced, cutting edge technology Silicon Photonics organization. We are looking for an outstanding senior technician who is a professional with a can-do attitude. You will perform soldering and manual assembly of various electronic components, touch up soldering and rework, testing and repair of components for all surface mount printed circuit boards, substrates used in optical modules. In this role, your job description and responsibilities will include : Ability to solder and re-work optical modules and PCBA's and evaluation boards. Has worked with and understands standard procedures for PCBA assembly including wire bonding, reflow. Understands and able to operate optical test equipment OSA, power meters, wavelength meters, Oscilloscopes etc. Follows standard safety procedures including maintaining a static free environment. Carry out preventative maintenance and calibration of production/R&D test stations. Actively communicates DFM ideas, issues, concerns, etc. to team members Works to help maintain positive working relationships between all team members. Understands production processes, and demonstrates follow-through in completing tasks. Ability to order production and R&D supplies including BOM, Maintains inventory of BOM components used in optical modules. Travel to contract manufacturer site to train manufacturing technicians and operators to support new products
Successful candidate will have an AS (preferred) with a minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience performing hand solder on printed circuit boards and optical component circuits.
Experience in soldering and manual assembly of various electronic components, touch up soldering and rework, testing and repair of components for all surface mount printed circuit boards, substrates used in optical modules
Educational background in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology required
