Job Description

Intel Next Generation and Standards NGS organization is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Distributed Systems, responsible for designing & developing middleware software for our advanced, next generation, connected compute platform. This position works on a small team and play a key role in shaping the future of Intel's technologies & products by closely collaborating with internal and external partners.

This role will be responsible for participating in design trade-offs and technology selection while working closely with Software Architects & other team members to meet program objectives on functionality, quality & schedule.

The role will be designing and building state-of-the-art technologies & solutions to enable new and emerging real-time computational workloads across distributed, networked elements. In this position will also create software solutions & implementations while contributing to software designs, algorithms, and interface specifications.

Qualifications

BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or other related field of study. 5 years with a BS Degree, 4 years with a MS Degree, or 2 with a PhD with the following prior Industry/software development experience:

  • 3 years of expertise and prior work in one or more areas of distributed systems such is in distributed file systems, resource management, programming models, performance analysis/tuning, etc.

  • Solid understanding of modern operating systems such as Linux and scalability techniques

  • Strong programming skills with demonstrated expertise in TCP/IP programming.

  • Clear demonstration of technical understanding of networking principles

  • Prior experience with distributed systems frameworks, and programming using ONE OR MORE of the following: Python, C, C , GO, JAVA, Rust, grpc etc.

The Next Generation and Standards Group's mission is to lead standards, ecosystem, and prototyping development efforts across Intel for advanced wireless communications IP, starting with 5G and beyond. This group brings together a panorama of competencies including standards creation, ecosystem development, use case and business development in creating advanced prototypes and technologies that propel Intel's leadership.
