Job Description

Develops software as the primary job function Designs, develops, debugs & tests complex software in any field e.g., systems software, software development tools, applications, drivers, numerical methods, UI's, web. May work directly with companies developing and optimizing compilers, operating systems, and other software technologies. Usually holds an academic degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Computational Science. Specifically, the Datacenter Scripting Languages Optimization team is looking for a Software Development Engineer to be part of a project in the area of datacenter runtimes optimization. You will work on analyzing and optimizing dynamic languages compilers, and runtimes, and the development of optimized algorithms, as part of a strategic line of Intel projects, ensuring that most used datacenter programming languages and workloads in the industry execute best on Intel Architecture. You will be involved in enabling the latest Intel datacenter platforms and technologies and your work will have a direct impact for Intel partners.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through relevant previous school, industry jobs and/or research experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 3+ year experience in Computer Science or equivalent or Masters Degree in computer science, computer engineering or computational science with 1 year of experience.

  • Hands-on C/C++ programming experience and exposure to low-level programming OS/embedded/etc., or computer architecture/internals interaction

  • Ability to perform profiling and software optimizations for better performance

Preferred requirements:

  • Performance optimizations in the area of compilers, libraries or runtime technologies - x86 microprocessor ISA, micro-architecture, and the runtime SW architecture

  • Experience with the implementation and usage of scripting languages.
