We are looking for an experienced VR Systems Engineer to join our growing team.
This individual fills a critical role and is the prime interface between sports broadcasting and the VR viewing public.
The VR Systems Engineer will work as part of the Engineering Services Team to use engineering principles and methods to design, build, maintain, document, and manage, Intel True VR systems.
You will build and maintain True VR hardware and software, utilizing specifications set in close coordination with the rest of the team.
A key part of this role requires the individual actually managing the equipment at broadcast events both domestically and internationally.
Strong sense of urgency with ability to prioritize under time constraints and work successfully in a fast-paced, innovative, technology-centric environment, preferably in a sports or VR environment.
Strong understanding of fundamental IT technologies to enable efficient, secure, and robust digital communications
Ability to build and maintain VR systems through a command line interface
Ability to visualize and communicate verbally, in writing, and via diagrams, complex ideas
Ability to work across technical disciplines, hardware, software, and IT systems
Willing to freely travel throughout the US, Europe, and Asia up to 80% of the time
Documenting and validating as you go working processes
A 4 year degree, preferably in a technical discipline, is required
3 years minimum experience in an technical business environment
Experience with Unix/Linux system administration experience essential
Experience configuring enterprise class equipment. Router skills highly valued
Experience laying out and installing servers into server racks
Network certifications CCNA, JNCIA-CCIE or JNCIE or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience in a Network Engineer/Architecture position with an Internet service provider or enterprise-level network.
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, GRE, IPSec, POS, PPP, VRRP, IGMP, HSRP and SNMP protocols.
Prior experience with audio/video production equipment extremely useful
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
SolidWorks Certified Professional or equivalent-
Working knowledge of cloud storage systems and CDNs
Experience automating network or system operations through scripting or coding
